Sometimes, links get broken. A page is deleted, a subdirectory forgotten, a site moved to a different domain. Most likely many of your blog posts contain links. It is almost inevitable that over time some of them will lead to a “404 Not Found” error page. Obviously you don’t want your readers to be annoyed by clicking a link that leads nowhere. You can check the links yourself but that might be quite a task if you have a lot of posts. You could use your webserver’s stats but that only works for local links.
So I’ve made a plugin for WordPress that will check your posts (and pages), looking for broken links, and let you know if any are found.

This plugin is great – my favourite: It displays all your blogroll links on a WordPress Page or Post. Insert [ mylinks ] (without spaces^^) to a Page or Post and it will display all your blogroll links there – with live snapshots of every page, title and description. Very nice too look! I dont like the WordPress standard link lists on the right or left side – so i think this is a very great solution if you have a page like mine and just want to show your visitors a few links … and not on every page of your website

فى نهاية العام السابق وتحديدا فى شهر نوفمبر لعام 2008 نشر موقع Live Side خبر يدعي فية بأن شركة مايكروسوفت قامت بإقتراح العديد من الاسماء لخدماتها وبرز إسم Kumo كأحد الاسماء البديلة لإسم Windows Live Search منذ فترة وبعد القيام بعمل trace route للنطاق اتضح ان النطاق يشير إلى مزودات MSN وان دخول النطاق هذا محدود على المستوى الداخلي.

أظهرت الأرقام التي رصدها بحث جديد لشركة StatCounter أن عدد الأشخاص الذين يستخدمون متصفح iPhone ازداد على عدد الأشخاص الذين يستخدمون متصفح Opera خلال الأسبوع الماضي.
وأشارت الأرقام إلى ارتفاع حصة متصفح iPhone التابع لشركة آبل إلى نسبة 24% من سوق التصفح عالميًا بينما أقرب منافس له وهو متصفح Opera انخفض إلى نسبة 22%. ويلي أوبرا متصفح نوكيا بنسبة 18% ثم يأتي في المركز الرابع متصفح آبل مرة أخرى من خلال جهاز iPod Touch والذي يحظى بنسبة 18% من السوق.
بذلك يمكننا أن نقول أن آبل تسيطر على السوق من خلال جهازيها iPhone وiPod Touch. بل إنها في المملكة المتحدة تعتبر الرائد الواضح للسوق حيث أن متصفحي iPhone وiPod Touch يحظيان بنسبة 31% و20% من السوق على التوالي.

قامت مايكروسوفت بعرض تقنية جديد من مراكز أبحاثها تتيح لك الكتابة على الهواء, حيث تمكنك هذه التقنية من كتابة حرف على الهواء ومن ثم سيقوم الكمبيوتر بتحويل الباقي إلى كلمة متكاملة بعد ان تنتهي من إدخال الحروف, هل يعني هذا نهاية لوحة المفاتيح؟ من يدري.

من هو عدو مايكروسوفت الاول؟ القرصنة, طبعا لكن آبل تقع في المرتبة الثانية بعد القرصنة, حيث عانت مايكروسوفت من الدعاية السيئة بعد ان قامت آبل مرة تلو المرة بالنيل منهم عبر إعلانات “I’m a Mac” والتي لاقت شعبية كبيرة, ولكن يبدو ان بيل جيتس يريد نشر هذه الثقافة إلى اولاده ايضا.
